How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    In the advanced options of the updates in item Paues updates is written (I can not copy / paste! idiots)

    Temporarily pause updates from being installed on this device for up to 35 days. When you reach the pause limit your device will

    need to get new updates before you can pause again.

    Pause until 28Jan

    Looks like in this case if it does not ask permission with a new option it will force 11

    I have Windows 10 home version so I don't have that group policy setting like the Pro version does. There is one setting to double check though. In settings, make sure you click the box that says that you have to be notified before installing an update. That way, Windows 11 won't install unless you let it.

    Hi again, I am not able to find this check box, do you think it is still available after 11 is downloaded and planned for installation? Do you remember where it is located? I think I checked all the available menus...

    OK now I understand, in my case would be like buying a new pc built 2 years ago.

    The only question is: does the edit group policy work for sure? Otherwise a lot of work for nothing.

    I'm not a tech, but personally I would not mess with your registry unless you are 100% confident what you are doing. I take it you have windows 11 and you don't want updates???

    Collect Call to Rodrigo from HELP! 😆

    I in advertently followed the wrong instructions (trying to block Windows 11). I went to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download and deleted most of the files. It was at 98% when I realized I was following the wrong instructions. Is there anyway to undo what I did, like a Systems Restore? 🤦🏾‍♀️ I had postponed the download until Jan 23rd, and now I don't know what to do. Is there anything I can do to correct the mess I've made? 🙏🏾
