How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    Absolutely agree with you Lynn. I'm having no issues since changing the registry. I'll deal with getting Windows 11 when I am forced to.

    I don't see the logic of this at all. Windows 10 is still being supported, so I see no problem (nor have I had any) in declining Windows 11. Accepting Windows 11 and then uninstalling it to go back to Windows 10 has reportedly been a nightmare for many people.

    Do NOT try to cancel the upgrade. That will leave your computer in an unstable, possibly unbootable state.

    Instead, allow the upgrade to complete. Then immediately go to Start menu > Settings > System > Recovery and 'Go back' to Windows 10.
