How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm having the exact same problem. I've done the registry fixes and clearly that didn't work. I'm now automatically downloading Win 11 despite altering all the registry keys to make that impossible.

I tried 11 and I HAtE IT. I got two crashes in 10 minutes, there's no way to put the screens on Dark Mode so I can read them more easily, and they've fubared the GUI. The glare from no Dark Mode alone started giving me a headache as it's difficult for me to read black text on a white field due to cataracts. NOT COOL, people!

WTH, Microsoft? Why are you shoving a broken product down our throats and not giving us a choice as to whether or not we want to change to Win 11. I can't call it an upgrade with a straight face.

I want Win 11 to stop downloading and I want it NOW.

Can you let me know if it works? It did for me in that when windows 11 was ready to install, up came the notification so that I could go back and pause right away. It could not install unless I specified a time during that day that it appeared.

I was going to come back to you and add that in my humble non-tech opinion you will be asking for a boat load of computer issues if you take the advice and upgrade to the newer version of Windows 10 Pro while you have the monster installation of Windows 11 barking at your door waiting for the install.

Don't do that. I've read way too many articles and posts on what goes wrong while trying to tweak this issue of Windows 11 and even more, if you let Windows 11 install and then 'roll it back' to Windows 10. That doesn't work as you can go back to Windows 10, with the risk of losing a ton of data, only to have Windows 11 pop up again for installation.

You have two choices: 1) keep pausing until you are ready to install Windows 11. Then commit and deal with whatever comes to fruition. I do know that many people are running it with no issues.

2. Let Windows 11 install and skip all the pausing. It is stressful.

Hi there, I believe you would need to update to 21H1 first because 20H1 has already reached the end of service, and the policy does not work on releases that have reached EOL.

All above 20H1 share the same code, so you can just use the enablement package to update to a supported release.

Also needs to work on music production software and the prob 2 hundred add ons

I do want to upgrade but after these

Mandatory programs are compatible

So if I do this I can still upgrade later ?
