How to Cancel Windows 11 update?

I'm one of the people who had Windows 11 download itself without me telling it to do so. Now, it is ready for install. I do not want to install Windows 11 at this point. I want to keep my Windows 10.

I've paused it for 7 days, but this is a temporary solution. Can I delete the Windows 11 download somehow? I'm running Windows 10 on a brand new Dell computer.

    ... Did you go into settings where your notifications are in regards to what you want to receive from Microsoft? I'll keep looking for exactly where it was. I only found it because I read about in a Windows 10 forum.

    I'm trying to locate where that one setting was. It did work as a notification popped up that I had to give the ok for Windows 11 to install. That is when I quickly went and paused it again for another 35 days. Did you go into settings where your notifications are in regards to what you want to receive from Microsoft? I'll keep looking for exactly where it was. I only found it because I read about in a Windows 10 forum.

    I have read that it does. I'm hoping it works for you. Your comment of that it would be like buying a computer from 2 years ago: I'm assuming that you know how many updates you will have in order to bring it all up to speed?

    Ultimately, Windows 11 is coming. I'm just coming from the view point of what is the easiest route from 'A' to 'B' without messing up my computer. My computer is less than one year old from Dell. The only reason I'm delaying it is because, as a business owner, this is going to be tax season. I can not risk not having my computer work the way I know it can work with all of my programs and printer working properly. Thus, that is why I'm waiting until March 1st. Or at least that is the game plan.

    Thanks for the suggestion.

    When I talked of rollback I meant reinstallation of the DELL initial configuration, which should be without any glitch, after which I could put again as target the 21H1 before even connecting to internet and hopefully this should stop the 11 download.

    I do not understand why you say this should give a lot of trouble.

    Hi Sumit,

    I run into this thread because I have a similar problem: WIN10 PRO, 20H1 with 11 ready to install and I do not want it (at least for long).

    I went to Group policy editor Local Computer Policy > Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Windows Update > Windows Update for Business, enabled the policy and typed 21H1 in the field.

    After reboot the situation is still the same, with 11 pending installation, which I delayed till 25 January

    Any suggestion? Thanks in advance
