Window 11 taskbar auto-hide turning off

I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

    After some time now I do believe I understand where the issue lies.
    Windows doesn't know what to do when a monitor plugged in through displayport wakes up, I'm unsure if it's the same with hdmi but mainly DP is the issue.
    Since the power flowing from a sleeping monitor connected through DP cable is so much lower than older vga/dvi, windows completely forgets it exists when it wakes up. Then windows in its infinite wisdom panics when it shows up again, blames you and drops all the balls.

    The "solution" that worked for me was to change a specific setting inside my monitor.
    Setting > Power Button > Standby
    This makes the monitor enter a slightly quicker wake up mode, which continually draws a tiny bit more power, enough so that the pc and windows can still detect it even when everything is off.

    Ultimately this is more of a quickfix than a solution, windows freaking out should not be happening in the first place

    No, I think this person is in the right thread. Some of us may want one thing and others another, but the fact remains that Microsoft has singularly been unable to rectify problems with the task bar and its hiding or non-hiding capacity. I understand the technology was changed with win11, thus taking away not only sensible hiding options but also the small icons I had become so used to. I do not believe them to be incapable of reversing these changes, so I can only assume an unwillingness to care about our needs as users, along with a complete refusal to even answer our complaints, let alone to apologise.

    willburr, as end users, it is the absolute right thing to post updates on continued issues in this thread so that the developers understand that there is still a problem that needs to be resolved. I found this thread because I was looking for a solution to this exact issue. It's good to know others are having a similar issue and that it is being reported to be worked on.

    I am having the same issue with a dual monitor setup where the auto-hide feature automatically being turned off. It seems to happen every other day.

    I have the same problem, even if I don't restart the PC, the Autohide setting is cancelled, so far I couldn't find the trigger which causes it
