I switched to Windows 11 a few weeks ago, and ever since then, the taskbar auto-hide quits working when the computer comes out of Sleep mode. I have to be away from the computer for a while before it will happen, and I believe it has something to do with me running dual monitors. When I wake my computer, my secondary monitor appears to come up faster than my primary by just a fraction. Once my primary is on, there is a message saying something about the taskbar already being hidden (I think) and the taskbar on my primary monitor has the taskbar up. When I go to Taskbar Behaviors, 'Automatically hide the taskbar' is no longer checked. I'll select it again, and it will work fine until the system goes back into Sleep mode for a while, again.

I have the same issue and what appears to be an accompanying issue: when coming out of sleep, the taskbar is unhid, the few folders and files I have on my desktop are all jumbled up, and they are only fixed by restarting Windows Explorer. It's so frustrating to have to restart Windows Explorer and reselect the autohiding feature like a half-dozen times a day. Fix this MS. Do it now.
I was having this issue (only a single monitor though) and nothing I did fixed it. Was having some other issues with usb/sound and ended up reinstalling Win11 from scratch and the task bar has autohid as it should for the last two weeks! Hopefully it lasts.
The problem hasn't disappeared... it's still there.
It only occurs when I configure my extended screen as the main one.
I'm sure that the MS developers are scrambling backstage to fix this.
I'm on Windows 11 Home version 21H2, OS build 22000.708.
Once again, I'm not sure about the 'dual monitor' thing. My dual monitor setup has now held the taskbar-hiding action for 3 days and 2 boot-ups, whereas down here on this machine the task bar is still permanently hidden unless I press the windows key. So for me it has nothing whatsoever to do with dual monitors.
This problem didn't start for me until I added a 2nd monitor and now I can't make it go away. I've tried command prompt and powershell commands and neither worked plus I keep getting taskbar error messages and I'm on a clean install of W11 pro. I run a W10 enterprise laptop at work and its maxed out on monitors without issue.
