Random keys act like they're stuck even though they're physically not

I just bought a brand-new laptop a couple of weeks ago with Windows 11 on it but from day 1 I've been having issues with the keyboard. For example, if I hold down the down arrow button or W key too long sometimes, the window start button activates. If I'm casually typing or scrolling on the web, sometimes either shift, ctrl, windows, or fn key (I haven't been able to verify which ones specifically are the issue but it looks like it's different ones at different times) acts like it's stuck so if I click on something, the computer thinks I'm holding down the shift, windows, etc. key + whatever key I pressed. Sometimes I can't even type anything because of this.

If I lock myself out of my account and then log myself back in, it goes away temporarily so the problem only happens when I'm logged in because the keyboard never does this on the sign in screen. Even if I use an external keyboard or even the on-screen one, it still does the exact same thing so it seems to me it's a software issue and not a hardware one. I've tried updating the keyboard drivers and mouse drivers and uninstalling and reinstalling them. I turned off sticky keys and all that but still nothing. The keyboard troubleshooter has found no issue either. Would appreciate any help with this.

    I have exaclty the same problem

    I've got an ASUS ROG 502VM and my windows key randomly gets "stuck".

    It's not physically stuck. This bug just randomly appeared out of nowhere.

    I reinstalled Windows, I even downgraded my BIOS, nothing helps. As soon as I get into Windows, it starts

    The weird thing is: It just happens IN windows.

    So the keys are working perfectly outside of it in the BIOS enviroment and so on. The Key gets virtually stuck after a while, but just in windows.

    Even if I let my laptop stand there, doing nothing, the windows key turns on and the only thing that helps is to turn on the virtual keyboard, start an external software, wait until this window appears that says "do you really want to allow changes to be made to your device through this app" (or similar, this is just a tranlsation), THEN I can turn off the windows key with the virtual keyboard and then it works for a few minutes, sometime hours, sometimes seconds...

    IT'S SO ANNOYING!!

    And it definitely must be a Windows Bug. I already had this bug quite a while ago, then it dissappeard (i guess after an update) and now it appeared again...

    Can someone from Microsoft PLEASE check this?

    I eventually tracked the issue down to a failed USB port on the docking station I was using. Try switching the USB port you are using to connect to your keyboard and see if the problem resolves.

    I have the same problem. Idk how to fix it and it's very annoying. Only happens when I am entering my pin but I always use my pin and don't try my Micro pass on windows 11. My motherboard and CPU came from an ASUS prebuilt its not a laptop. Ryzen 5, 32g, RTX 3090. As you said virtual keyboard does it even when I disconnect my old physical dell keyboard.

    Some other things notable:

    I have a chrome remote desktop.

    I have a ton of USB 3.0 external drives.

    I have a USB DAC.

    I have an older Logitech mouse and the newer racing wheel but I have also tried isolating these.

    The system is normally very stable and I keep it on for mining in the winter sometimes 72+ hours at a time.

    This is the exact same problem I'm having as well. My work laptop got "upgraded" to Windows 11, literally nothing else changed. Now when using my dock and external keyboard, it acts like keys are stuck when I'm typing.

    This could be ANY key on the keyboard I hit, space, backspace, etc... I thought the keyboard went bad so I bought a new one, same issue. So I tried the keyboards on my other laptop with Windows 10, zero issues.

    Thing is this also happens to me even on the login screen sometimes. I haven't tried it with just the laptop keyboard so I'm personally thinking it has something to do with using a USB keyboard with Windows 11.

    Hi, I am facing similar issue in 2022 in my windows 10 laptop. Did microsoft ever provide an official fix? Or any other solution to fix this bug?
