    Same problem here, tried literally everything listed here and elsewhere but I could not get the latest 22H2 cumulative update to install. I finally managed to persuade Windows to start updating again by turning on Insider Program and enabling Dev Channel. If you are out of ideas it's worth a try.

    you say it ok now after MS gave you instructions, but was it a brand new computer with the latest windows? you had to install a new / latest version yourself.

    Can you share the instructions they gave you?

    It seems this problem of Windows Update been unable to install Security Cumulative files is constant all widespread.

    Any solution don't works. My files are not corrupted, rename the cumulative files doesn't work, the troubleshooting tools are useless. And using the reinstall solution as the last "desperate solution" is absurd. Microsoft must address this problem asap.

    I have DOZENS of Cumulative Update failed since march, 2022! All other type of update goes perfectly. Please, we need an effective solution at short time. PLEASE.

    uninstall .NET 4.8, that let mine update

    Thank you.

    I contacted Microsoft Support like you did and they gave me all the instruction that I required to download Windows 11 and how to install it.

    Everything is updated perfectly and it only took 1 1/4 hours.
