I have the same problem with an HP laptop and have tried all the suggested remedies that I could find. I will do like you and sit on it for a while and hope that a fix will come along in a future update.

Thank you, my computer has an 11th Gen Intel Core i7119G7 processor and 16GB of RAM. I've reistalled the OS and done factory resets. It's a Dell XPS13 7310. I was able to fix it last week and made a recovery drive. I believe there might be a bug somewhere. Either in the hardware, Dell or the OS software.

I use Windows Defender as my security software. I did turn it off when I tried your original suggestion.
