For those who don't want to play with powershell, admin privileges etc etc.

Simply open Microsoft Store, click My Library (bottom left), click Get Updates (top right). That's it.

Same---This is about the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I'm not a programmer but this makes very little sense to me as a layperson. This forum has basically discovered the flaw----MSFT should be able to quickly fix. The high contrast modes are terrible.

Oddly enough, I've had 13 eye surgeries and a vision issue that prevents me from driving and requires the use of a good number of lighting and magnification aids, and even I can't stand the high contrast. I don't know what kind of vision issue those themes are made for, but I'm pretty sure it applies to virtually no one. But now we know it is definitely in the coding somehow and it really shouldn't be that hard for them to fix if they wanted to.

When I have a link to click, I press Alt-LeftShift-Printscr and it turns on the high contrast, then click the link, then repeat the key press to turn off high contrast right away. At least it's a work-around for now.

I have a Dell laptop running Windows 11 Pro with a NVIDA GeForce RTX 3060 card. If I change setting to high contrast themes, then the link works as you found. I too do not like high contrast themes so will live with link not working until Microsoft see fit to fix the problem with the phone link to Windows.
