Memory Integrity cannot be turned ON

In Windows security I got a massage that memory integrity in windows security is off. But I can't turn it on. Every time I try to turn it on but i get a massage that it can't turn on. Please help me to resolve my problem.

Hi,

Here is what typically works for most of the users who know the driver name as it is mentioned in Windows Security. Apparently, Microsoft changed/updated the incompatible driver list recently, which has ended up this issue for most of the users.

Method 1:

You can get the list of drivers by running this command in the elevated command prompt:

dism /online /get-drivers /format:table

After that, Make note of the Published Name (ex: "oem13.inf") of the driver that is shown as problematic.

Then use the pnputil command to delete the driver from the device:

pnputil /delete-driver <Published Name> /uninstall /force​

Please note that running this command would remove the device driver and the next time you use the device, it would not work. Reinstalling the driver might help.

Method 2:

Another alternative is using Autoruns to delete the driver. Download it from here:

https://live.sysinternals.com/autoruns.exe

Run it as administrator.

Go to the Driver tab, locate the driver and delete the same.

    What should I do if I am getting an error for incompatible drivers, but when viewing what drivers are incompatible, none are listed?

    The incompatible driver on my PC is a Huawei USB driver ew_usbccgpfiler.sys which is reported as the most up-to-date driver by Windows Update. If I delete it my USB devices stop working, including my mouse and keyboard, until the system reinstalls the same incompatible driver, and I still cannot turn on Memory Integrity, Any suggestions?

    Here is a potential workaround (I am using Windows 11). Here is a fix that worked for me. If you can't see the core isolation tab you have to go into BIOS and enable SVM (Secure Virtual Machine or VM).

    For MSI BIOS motherboards here is the process, (check your manufacturer for where to find and how it is labeled in BIOS)

    1. Restart your computer and keep pressing delete to open BIOS on the main screen you have to go into OC settings -> additional CPU features to find the setting click on the label, click enable and exit out of BIOS (it will ask you to save changes, click Yes).
    2. For other manufacturers follow their steps to enable in BIOS
    3. Once enabled in BIOS Core Isolation should show up under Device Security.
    4. Click on Core isolation details choose what you would like to enable--> Memory Integrity, Local Security Authority protection (definitely enable this, it will require a restart), Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist (once I enabled this to ""On" and restarted the button became greyed out and shows on)
    5. Restart you're computer
    6. You may still get the notification that your Local Security Authority protection is off, Your device may be vulnerable.
    7. Click Dismiss and reboot
    8. After rebooting you will notice this message went away and you will see the following. Your device meets requirements for enhanced hardware security. See below picture with yellow arrow

    *See below the picture on the steps to access Device Security Information in Windows 11 (I have the most recent OS version 22HS, and OS Build 22621.1413)

    For Windows 11 users how to get to Device Security

    • Click on the Windows icon and click on the gear setting icon
    • Click on the Privacy & Security Tab (left column 2nd from the last option)
    • Click on Windows Security (Right Column 1st entry)
    • Click on Open Windows Security
    • Click on Device Security (It will have a computer style icon in blue)
    • Once you do this is where Core Isolation will show up or there will be nothing until you do the above
    • Click on Core isolation details and this brings you to the tab to enable Local Security Authority protection

    J'ai exactement le même problème et n'utilise pourtant pas McAfee. Je pense que la cause est autre.
