I'm not from Microsoft nor am I computer guru.

I've had the same problem with viewing my photo thumbnails. Countless experts later and the problem was not fixed.

So, here is what I did that actually fixed the problem.

Open your ONE DRIVE APP. Find the photo album you want fixed (one folder at a time), Right click. Go to more options at the bottom. Copy.

Go to your FILE EXPLORER. Find the corresponding file. Right click on it. Hit paste. Hit skip...and once transfer is complete, open that file and it should be good.

George I don't understand what you're talking about. Where is it a law that you must keep your files with you at all times and have full control? even if you did have to do that by law, One drive is no more than a back up system for people like that they can easily have all their Files all the time on their machines as a choice. It seems like you have never even used the product? Please see the options in the OneDrive admin tool on your machine or perhaps find a YouTube video to better understand how the product works.

I'm confused. In OneDrive, under the OneDrive Settings/Advanced Settings you no longer have Files on Demand? When OFF you end up having everything on your local computer as well as in the cloud. Perhaps your computer doesn't have enough disk space for it to be active????

Save disk space with OneDrive Files On-Demand for Windows - Microsoft Support

in that post it also says:

Why don’t I see the Files On-Demand options in OneDrive settings?

First, make sure you don't have Windows Information Protection (WIP), previously known as enterprise data protection (EDP) configured on your computer. Files On-Demand is not yet supported when WIP is enabled.

If you aren't seeing the Files On-Demand options, the latest version of OneDrive hasn't rolled out to you yet. Here's how to get the latest version of OneDrive.

    1. Make sure you're running Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 16299.15 or later).
    2. Download and install the latest version of OneDrive that's rolling out with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.
    3. Restart your computer.
    4. After your computer restarts, select the Start button, search for “OneDrive”, and then select the OneDrive desktop app.
    5. When OneDrive Setup starts, enter your personal account, or your work or school account, and then select Sign in.
    6. Follow the instructions to Turn on Files On-Demand.
