Epson printer issues with Windows 11

Same issues!!! Probably the same solution, return the Epson ET4550 and purchase an HP. I LOVE the tank printers, and I really do love my Epson printer, but if it doesn't work every time I hit "Print" then it is not worth any amount of money, and these things are expensive! It's like buying an expensive car that only drives after you walk around it 100 times, patting it on the hood each time, and begging it to start. I've about come to the end of the story with Epson, unfortunately.

I had an Epson ET3750 that printed every time with Windows 10, but I have to admit, it did need head cleaning often, and that's a time-waster, too. But when I got a new laptop with Windows 11 installed, it didn't work, so I upgraded my Epson, thinking a new model had to work. But it doesn't. :(

Manually assigning a printer port has solved the issue. I have turned printer on an off numerous times, family have been to the house and tapped into my wifi on many occasions and the printer now always prints first time.

It is necessary to assign the same port an on any PC that wishes to use the printer, and I needed to reset up the cloud print service, but all is now working reliably.

Same issue on ET-3750. It was working fine last week, this week it won't work and windows can't find the printer.

My windows 11 has been updated and my Epson TM-T20III printer stops working. I tried to remove all drivers for Epson and install the new one, but that wasn't the solution. After many many hours of crossing the web and i find solution for my problem.

Check the Print Spooler Service.

Here are the steps on how to check if the print spooler service is running or not.

Step 1: Press the Windows key and type services on the keyboard.

Step 2: Select the Services app from the search results.

Step 3: Once the Services app window opens, find the Print spooler service at the bottom of the list of services.

Step 4: Now right-click on the Print spooler service and click on Restart

After that right click and select Properties from the context menu.

Step 5: In the Print Spooler Properties window, make sure the General tab is selected.

Step 6: Then select Automatic from the dropdown list of Startup type option and click the Start button below it.

Step 7: This starts the Print spooler service on the system and once it is started, click Apply and OK.

Step 8: Close the services app window.

The next step is where my problem is solved !!!

Step 9: Next, open the run box by pressing the Windows and R keys together.

Step 10: Type C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERSin the run command box’s textbox and press Enter key.

Step 11: This opens the PRINTERS folder on the system.

NOTE – Before opening the folder, it might prompt to accept the admin permission window.

Step 12: Now clear this folder by selecting all the files present in the folder and deleting them.

Step 13: Once done, close the folder and other windows that are open and restart the system.

After many hours of removing anything Epson and installing and re-installing drivers, I thought the issue may be with the network port. This is because the data was always sent to print, but never made it to the printer. Having had similar problems with an old HP printer years ago, after much research I discovered it was the home network automatic TCP/IP address assignation that was the issue. Once I fixed the TCP/IP address within a certain range of numbers the issue went away. When I checked the printer port's TCP/IP address in W11 it had the printer name and what I thought was a weird reference code. It was not possible to configure the port manually and assign a TCP/IP address. I therefore checked my printer network settings on the printer panel display in "setup - network set up - wifi status" and wrote down the TCP/IP port reference. in W11 I then added a new port and assigned it to the printer. I then printed the word "test" from a word document successfully, after selecting the newly added printer option from the print menu, (save wasting all that ridiculously expensive ink that costs more than a new printer to buy) on "print a test page".

The problem may still occur when new devices connect to my home wifi if the printer is turned off, so I need to work out how to permanently "reserve a TCP/IP address"
