Epson printer issues with Windows 11

Me too on Windows 11 on new Geekcom I7 mini PC with Epson ET-4750 printer. I download scanner driver from Epson website, and it installs an exe file, but no Icon to run the scan program. So I run the installation exe file, and it reports upon completion that everything installed OK, from the exe file, --but it is not!

The printer install file runs OK and prints very well, so I cannot understand why the scanner program Scansmart2 doesnt do the same.

Its installed alright, but where is it? Windows manager says installed OK also, but I can't find the "run" file, nor icons, mainly because I dont know the name of that run file.

I mailed Epson UK, last week, but still no reply. with the runtime file name. I can create the Icon or shortcut for my desktop OK, but first I need that run file name. Epson, if you are reading this, please reply to this forum.

I have also reinstalled Windows 11 several times, and it is completely updated. There are no other users on this system. I am the only top level Administrator, and run it with those credentials as top level administrator ( no subordinates ).

The Epson ET-4750, is quite an expensive All-in-One, and one of more than 30+ Epson inkjet printers I've had over the last 30 years, all which have had clogged printheads eventually, and scapped. It does print very well, but scanner? - nil points as yet.

How do you like this fact? I bought a HP Laserjet 7 over forty years ago, just after Laser Printers came to the UK. I ran my business with that as my only printer for many a year, -AND since bought it has consumed only 2 toner cartridges.

The second cartridge is installed in the printer here in my lounge and still printss very well, without any service at all in last 40 years. Congratulations Hewlett Packard, but there is a drawback- the only input is via old style SCSI connector which is HUGE!

Have you tried downloading and running the Epson Connect Printer Setup utility? I know it seems too simple but I was having all kinds of problems with printing and scanning from Windows 11 and that cleared up the problem.

Also, when you bring up Epson Scan on 11, you need to press the Alt key to enable it.

I'll would be curious to find out if any of this helps, so hopefully you can reply with results.

Well this seems almost too simple, but I'll share what worked for me. I installed Epson Connect Printer Setup on my pc and ran the utility. Magically, my printer and scanner started working!

You can easily download the utility typing the name into the Windows Search bar and install it from there.

I don't know if that will work for everybody but it did for me, so if you still have problems and haven't tried that, why not give it a go?

Ok you have probably tried this but….. have you went to permissions and made sure that your device is able to be discovered by other devices? (There are two places if I remember right- one is obviously bluetooth/wifi, but the other was in update and security under “for developers” under “device discovery” which makes your device visible to usb connections and your local network).

If you haven’t tried that give it a go. That is what worked for me :)

If you have- sorry that was my best guess! I tried everything before that and that is the only thing that worked (and then I had to restart it after for the changes to take effect) It was a sudden change from an update the computer went through that changed my configuration.

tried that, too! Seems fine - - then push print -- and NOPE ERROR Communication error -- document in print queue
