Windows Installer reconfigured the product. Product Name: Microsoft GameInput. Product Version: 10.1.22621.1011. Product Language: 1033. Manufacturer: Microsoft Corporation crashes PC

Any solutions known? I've looked and nothing has worked so far but they are old posts. This has been a problem for years now and the muppets at microsoft have done **** to fix it.

    Hey all

Glad you're all keeping the thread alive...

Some news! I also uninstalled gameservices using a PowerShell command, as well as all other Xbox related packages, and so far I haven't had a crash since last Tuesday. BUT (and it is a big but) I've been off work and so have only rarely been using the computer. First full day of heavy usage today, though, and so far so good...

Confusingly, I have tried this method previously but it didn't work, so it's probably worth mentioning that this time I actually did a full fresh reinstall of all the Xbox packages (games services, game bar etc) before finally deleting them through PowerShell. Not sure if this would have made any difference, but thought I'd mention it.

    Here's how I deleted everything:

    I'll keep you updated...

Unhelpful reply. I don't think anyone asked you to spend your time on this (unless you're secretly a Microsoft dev).

User after user is having the same issue; Microsoft Gameinput "reconfigured" then a reboot or system freeze moments later.

The common denominator is the redistributable, Xbox app and MS gaming services... not the user.

    Thought I had it nailed.

Disabled C States via BIOS and had 3 whole days without an issue... then this just now:

Turns out the three days grace were simply because gameinput and gameservices hadn't been able to install for some reason... as soon as they did - pop!

Upon restart I was greeted with "gameservices has been updated, click to see what's new" :-/

For the love of god Microsoft, fix this!!

    +1 from me this time...

Come on Microsoft. In the last week I've had a reboot in a senior exec meeting and during an interview call.

This is a bit of a joke now. Please take a look at this.
