Xbox App and Microsoft Store prevents game downloands by requiring Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package to download first, but Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package will not download

Every time that I go to download a game from the xbox app or microsoft store that is over 1GB, the xbox app/microsoft store first tries to download Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package first. The issue is that the microsoft store page for Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package appears to be bugged, and I cannot download it. I have tried canceling the downloads and downloading just the package by itself and it does not work. I cannot find the page online to download it manually either. How do I download Visual C++ 2015 UWP Desktop Runtime Package manually, or how do I work around needing it to download larger games. This is a new issue, it was not a problem a month ago.

    Hi all,

    Preview users on the 4.67.15001.0 build should be receiving updates to the 4.67.21001.0 build which should resolve their issue without having to do any PowerShell commands.

    Please check the Store>Library>Get Updates to update the Gaming Services. It may take 24-48 hours to see it while it's continuously pushed out, so don't worry if you do not see it right away.

    Thank you all for reporting these bugs so the team could resolve them before it hits GA. As Insiders on preview builds, these things tend to happen, so please keep reporting issues as you come across them.

    Yeah I just went to the microsoft store this morning. Pressed updata all and a new update for gaming services popped up .Now it works to download stuff again.

    OK folks. despite what the useless supposed "agents" telling us to re-install f**king windows. we just got a update on gaming services. and BOOM things are downloading. I'm still annoyed as **** there was no mention of this on their socials, it could have saved us alot of time. hope y'all getting it working.

    I will note here that its a known issue that people somehow have happen to get vc++ installers to fail. Its been a thing for quite a few years. I'm guessing that's what's happening here. The error message popup for that tends to get blocked unless running it directly. You should look for the redist exe for that specific vc++ and try to install it manually and see if it works or not. I have no idea where it'd be in this case but probably with those two applications or somewhere around there or maybe in the temp folders.

    If there's another issue happening then you may want to rule out vc++ installer issue first then move on. If you use a 3rd party AntiVirus application or something then it may be interfering with your OS. The damage could be done.

    Either way, clean installing the OS should solve this as long as you don't reinstall or do whatever that messed it up in the first place.
