Drive appears when in system properties

This drive appeared from nowhere when I was checking for restore points. I only have one user and this drive (\?\Volume{a6810e9c-7196-4ad5...) does not appear anywhere else. I haven't been able to remove it, not because it's causing performance issues or anything, but simply because it bugs me. Any idea what that is and how to remove it?

I've tried resetting my laptop several times but all in vain. Is there any solution for this?

The log says winre.wim can't be found even though the file is present there.

Pls try:

  • attrib -s -h -r c:\windows\system32\recovery\reagent.xml
  • del c:\windows\system32\recovery\reagent.xml /a
  • REAGENTC /disable
  • copy c:\winre.wim T:\Recovery\WindowsRE /y
  • REAGENTC /setreimage /path T:\Recovery\WindowsRE /target C:\Windows
  • REAGENTC /enable

    Yes I placed the new winre.wim file in c:\windows\system32\recovery (which was empty btw) and then pasted the file there. Then deleted the already existing T:drive and create a new one size=900. After that I proceeded with the rest of the steps. Could it be that I should've copied the replies from a different reply?

    Two things:

    1. Have you also copied the same winre.wim file to c:\windows\system32\recovery? Note that that folder already includes your 1 GB winre.wim (which is hidden), which needs to be moved and backed up to a safe place. Then copy the smaller version of winre.wim to system32\recovery.
    2. Pls check reagent.log

    This is the size of WinRE. I don't know if it has to with skipping "GPT" or "remove" commands.

    My bad. An image file loaded late, maybe because of my slow VPN. The commands are correct. May I know the size of Winre.wim?
