OMG. THANK YOU!! I have been trying to find those settings forever! Never realized it was just so simple...
how to enable sound equalization in windows 11
I am attempting to enable audio equalization for windows 11. I followed a video tutorial, by downloading the latest Realtek audio driver, then opening my sound settings and enabling the equalizer. I am not given this option. I see no equalizer selection in my sound settings. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.
Kind regards,
bigbeardedbuddy.

2023-10-12T22:42:43+00:00 None of your previous replies said anything about downloading the Realtek app from the store. Windows does not come with it. Enhancements tab exists for the output device, there is just no equalizer option.
You just said that if the sound settings do not have an EQ then you must have some premium software that has it's own software, which most of the people here like me do not have.

Actually it is completely sane the way they are doing it.
The simplest explanation is to use the 10 band graphic equalizer as an example:
- Realtek audio driver has 10 band graphic equalizer
- You buy a desktop pc or a laptop with premium sound (built-in Dolby, DTS, Nahimic, Waves, B&O...) and the premium sound app has a 10 band equalizer.
- You forgot you have 2 EQ's and you turned both on accidentally.
- Your sound is ruined because you double EQ'ed.
So to prevent double EQ'ed or double environment (the sewer sound emulation) or double loudness equalization --- that particular realtek "feature" gets deleted and you use the equalizer/environment/loudness equalization in the premium audio app.
For example, if you have a lenovo computer with premium dolby audio app. Then realtek's 10 band EQ and loudness equalization are both deleted. Instead you use Dolby's 10 band EQ and volume leveler (which is their name for loudness equalization).
It's been like that since windows 7 when fireberd figured out that his realtek EQ was deleted and he had to use the EQ in the Soundblaster app.
If your premium audio app doesn't have that particular feature and it's also deleted in the realtek audio console, then complained to your computer manufacturer, they are the company that decides what to delete in the realtek audio driver. Nothing to do with realtek or Microsoft.
