    I found a really easy fix. This error is due to the updates already being installed.

    Simply scroll down in the Windows Updates, and:

    1. click on pause updates for 1 week.
    2. resume updates again

    Windows updates will recheck for new updates and it will be fixed.

    This was so stupid easy! And it FIXED the problem. THANK YOU!

    i have been hving an issue with the same..hp elitebook 850 G3

    An update cincerning conexant media 7/3/2018 - 8.65.262.0

    install error 0x80070103

    tis update seems being unable to install always ...it remains as update fails.

    please note am using windowss 11 pro insider preview build25267

    Thanks John! This worked for me, specifically this step: "**Reset Windows Update Components"

    I ran the BAT file from tenforums (as administrator), rebooted, back into Windows Updates, and my issue is fixed. :)
