I have an HP Envy x360 Convertible 15-dr0xxx which was on Windows 10 when I bought it. When the official "you can now upgrade to Windows 11" came around, I did that - and my fingerprint reader Synaptics WBDI SGX worked just fine.
Until, one day, it did not. I have had this issue before. After pretty much every Windows update there was a yellow triangle in the device manager. Simple solution: disable device, enable again, and it worked. This time, not so much. First of all, there is no yellow triangle, the device supposedly works as intended.
The issue I have seems to be with the fingerprint setup in Windows Hello: when I go into the sign-in options in the settings and try to set up the fingerprint, it circles the drain for a bit, then something looking like the reader scanning the fingerprint flashes up for a split second, and then it says "Sorry, something went wrong. Close Window Hello, and then try going through the setup again." Which of course just gets me the same result.
Anybody any ideas?
