Can NOT start up my PC: HP Z440

When booting up:

Safe Mode, Uninstall the latest quality update, Restore back to point 18-10-2021 :

same symptom

Today in the morning I turn ON PC, I was offline[no cable ethernet], and while working prompt for an update[while was dis-connected], after this connected - checked some Gmail, etc. and after 30-min press UPDATE & RESTART,

And got this problem on startup...

well...?

I have a backup of C:/ with Acronis... I think of October 2021

    Do you get the same Intelpep.sys error when you try?

    YES

    I would change their Attrib as follows...

    TRY THIS, TEST TO BOOT...? AFTER:

    go ahead & apply factory defaults

    TRY THIS, TEST TO BOOT...?

    YES/NO...?

    Now I've looked it over.

    (1) The new BCD lost its recovery environment entries, but we'd be able to get them back. It still has that slew of Firmware Application entries, but the Windows Boot Manager is on top. It looks like it should achieve a boot to Windows. Do you get the same Intelpep.sys error when you try?

    (2) Your Recovery partition has all its files including its WinRE.wim. Your EFI & Recovery partitions have the right type codes. I would change their Attrib as follows...

    DiskPart <<<Enter DiskPart

    List Vol <<<List the volume numbers

    Select Vol 1 <<<Select your EFI volume

    GPT ATTRIBUTES=0x8000000000000000

    Select Vol 2 <<<Select your Recovery partition

    GPT ATTRIBUTES=0x8000000000000001

    Detail Part <<<Show partition details

    Exit <<<Exit

    Notes...

    0x8000000000000000 Prevents the partition from having a drive 

                                    letter automatically assigned.

    0x0000000000000001 marks the partition as required.

    (3) I can't say I understand your BIOS screens. It does have the UEFI Windows Boot Manager on top at the Boot screen which is good. Beneath it are other UEFI & Legacy options (but not as many as are in the BCD). I guess your BIOS lets both UEFI & Legacy be enabled at once.

    Presuming you can't boot now, go ahead & apply factory defaults. They should be at that setting anyway if you've never altered them. Then try to boot. Good luck.

    That might be a good idea, but first let me look at the stuff you posted especially those BIOS screens. You've got an "ignore changes & exit". Too bad there isn't an option to apply factory defaults without exiting. If there were, you could see what you'd get first & decide whether you want them. Let me look at it a bit. It is good to see {bootmgr} on top in the BCD.

    I am thinking to give up, and connecting D:/ data disk HDD 4TB, and if have Acronis backup of disk 0 -- do a Restore backup to disk 0
