I want to keep the widget on my task bar, however I don't want the new stories to show. I've hide a bunch of them and they still end up showing, but I'm constantly having to hide them all since there are sooooo many. How do I disable the top stories, and the news and interest without turning off my widgets. I ONLY want the weather to show.

I've uninstalled microsoft news but I'm still seeing the news stories.

With the February update to Windows 11 - you have the option to disable MS start to feed from the Widget Settings. Requires Windows 11 23H2 at least.

I would suggest that you completely remove the the Widgets app from your taskbar - see here -and pin the Weather App to Start / Taskbar.

After talking to Microsoft Support, it appears that there is no way to hide the news feed to show only your pinned widgets.

This really frustrates me, but is motivating me to look into developing a widget board myself. Probably won't get anywhere with it, but I see the potential of widgets in Windows, and its current implementation is very restrictive.

All of you "independent advisors" give such awful, generic answers

    1. If you'd actually READ their post, you'd realize they ONLY want to remove the news part of the widgets screen, NOT THE WHOLE SCREEN.
    2. That "https://wccftech.com/how-to/disable-enable-and-customize-news-and-interests-taskbar-widget-in-windows-10/" article is for Windows 10, not 11, which is this author's version.
