Cannot install Windows 11 - Error 0xc1900101

I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.

The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:

" Attempting to recover installation "

" Undoing changes made to your computer "

And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

    is this a proven solution for the 0xc1900101 error? if so, why is everybody ignoring it?

    This has to do with SSD and m.2 support errors for some reason when installing windows 11 the install script cant identify the primary drive windows is on . So you get this error when installing so to fix this you will need to unplug the SSD finish the install and then plug it back in then update if need be .

    Thanks for the suggestion. It turned out I did NOT have secure boot enabled so I went through the steps of enabling that in my BIOS and then had to jump through a few hoops (disabling Memory Integrity) because my Intel graphics driver wouldn't load (prevent use of multiple monitors). Once I had everything working again, tried installing the upgrade and it still failed with the same error.

    I didn't know what you were talking about anyway.

    The recent Insider Builds were failing to even start to install because they were complaining I didn't have a TPM 2.0 chip. Turns out I did (it was disabled) but even after re-enabling it in my NUC's BIOS, I'm back to the original GSOD/0xc1900101 I was getting with the first Win11 Preview.
