Same issue for me, have tried multiple times a month apart to try and let Microsoft make updates, system is saying it's ready but get that error every time trying to install. I tried removing third party anitvirus software temporarily prior to install, but makes no difference. PC is more than capable (i7-1165GY, 16GB Ram).
Cannot install Windows 11 - Error 0xc1900101
I am trying to install the new Windows 11 update from Windows Update, but I keep getting error 0xc1900101.
The installation starts, and after a couple restarts, it says:
" Attempting to recover installation "
" Undoing changes made to your computer "
And then I am greeted with error 0xc1900101 on Windows Update.

2021-11-23T23:51:27+00:00 Surface Book 3 here - getting this error.
No idea why nor is there an obvious solution.
I have another Surface Book 3, and a 2, and a desktop running all Windows 11 fine.
Saying that, the Surface Book 3 does just overheat chronically and throttle so they are much good for anything.
