Windows 10 20H2 feature update causes lags, freezes, slow performance

I installed the Windows 10 20H2 update about a week ago, and since then my computer constantly freezes. These tasks aren't computationally demanding - watching videos in the browser or Spotify etc. I read there were some known issues with the update affecting network connectivity as well as general performance issues, but I've tried to install the patches for this and they're "not applicable to my device".

I have a series of driver updates but nothing else in my "optional updates" section. Should I try these? Are there pending patches for this update yet to be released? Worst case scenario, can I just roll it back completely?

    Some testing here. Most of my apps have some sort of Chrome (which is based on Webkit) in the background. Lots of apps, including Discord and Slack use Electron as their backend, which runs on top of Chrome.

    So, I switched my browser to Firefox. No lag or stutter, so I switched. These apps (perhaps more) do:

    Task Manager
    Steam Friends (but not Steam itself)
    Chrome
    Edge
    Discord (Electron)
    Slack (Electron)
    Spotify
    Facebook Messenger
    VS Code (Electron)

    The commonality between these all, except perhaps Task Manager, is the webkit base.

    Here's a recent related bug https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1061465 but I suspect something Microsoft did is still the culprit underneath, since this did not happen until the update.

    I totally agree with PunchCard Steve.

    Exactly my problem and I did the upgrade this morning.

    Here is what I didi and the only thing that I will do :

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>Sfc /scannow

    Beginning system scan.  This process will take some time.

    Beginning verification phase of system scan.

    Verification 100% complete.

    Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

    C:\WINDOWS\system32>

    The only reason this could do this is if Microsoft is "algorithmically" looking for what I do with my PC and send information about what I do, live and in real time.

    My mouse.

    Really.

    My mouse that started to stutter.

    And there was an arm long list of what it was supposed to solve as problems.

    God I miss Windows 95.

    No problems like we have now and I was able to work and stay focus on my work.

    Same issue with 20H2 Chrome and Edge very slow to start. It also would not install updates to my CAD program, it would download the files and then they would just disappear??? Finally restored back to  Win 10 Pro 1909 and everything works again. Chatted with support to try to stop the updates but there is no easy way to do it. You have to add files and commands in the registry and hope it works. This has literally cost me days of unproductive time. Why can't we opt out of these ^&#$ Beta quality updates????  This is so ridiculous!!!!! So typical of Microsoft
