Repeated crashes and BSOD on ASUS TUF A15

Hello,

Several months ago I bought an gaming laptop, an Asus TUF A15 FA506IV with Windows 10 installed. Everything was fine in the first weeks, but then my computer started to crash and get BSOD randomly, except when I'm playing or using it intensively, which is weird.

I've tried everything, ranging from reinstalling drivers, to a complete reset and windows install.

I've checked RAM, disk and system files integrity, tried multiple repair tools, both Microsoft and unofficial, multiple times, installed every single driver based on Windows Update recommendations/constructor website, even used driver verifier, but nothing has changed since.

The only thing that sometimes changes is the error message of the bluescreen, when there's one. Often the screen only goes completly black, and nothing else happens.

Oh, and I can't show any memory/crash dump since nothing is generated.

Is there anything else to do, or is my computer doomed to be returned to the vendor ?

    Hi,

I suggest you check this link.

Your situation is exactly same as mine. I have the same TUF A15 as you. I started havin debilitating BSOD crashes at the around the same as you. My warranty also ran out a bit before the year changed. To be honest, this seems a bit suspicious on ASUS part, but I digress.

I suggest you follow the link, follow the guide and change your Processor Performance Boost Mode from "Aggressive" to "Efficient Aggressive".

I did the same and I am now over two weeks without a single BSOD after said change.

A bit over week without any BSOD (26.02.2023, 11:54am) after the Processor Performance Boost Mode Change. I have no idea if anything has changed performance wise, so this feels like a win-win at the moment.
One noticeable thing is that temperatures are remarkably more stable.

Wow, I forgot about this topic

Well update on my computer : I returned it to the vendor, and despite the warranty being terminated, I could get a refund. I have found no fix, it went to Asus several times and they never found any issue, except the last time I returned it, right after the warranty ended :v They charged me with replacing the mobo which had a defect, so it was obviously a hardware problem.

If you still have a working warranty, I advise you to use it and get an actual tower pc, as gaming laptops are just bad overall, and really expensive
