WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    It's not a secret - we know about it, Microsoft know about it, Insiders must know about it, Microsoft  knew about it 2 or 3 years ago when the same issue arose, must of solved it then (well for a while anyway) so why not sort it now. We are only customers - why should MS worry about us after they have pushed faulty updates onto us (evidently they don't care). We have had one posting from someone from MS - he seems to have lost interest as per the company itself. My issues usually occur on the 3rd reboot from installs which could be tomorrow pm - we shall see. Have to think seriously about what operating system to get on next computer - Mickey Mouse could no doubt provide a better operating system & customer service.

    This secret Microsoft activity happens 2 or 3 days per week and hijacks my machine for 30-60 minutes each time.

    I wish Microsoft would let us know what this is and give us a choice whether we want to use the machine or let them use it.

    The lack of a reasonable response to all these complaints is very bad service.

    Anyway some big updates rolled out today at least for version 20-04. Seems like a smaller update for 20H2. Let's hope there is a fix for the Waas mess.

    Just checked WaasMedic in system files - quite a few are notated with creation date being December 2020 & January 2021 which means they were issued a short while after - is this significant as the first posting in this thread was January?. Saw some issues in 2017 & 2018 with same current issue - MS seem to have a habit of repeating previous issues.
