WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    In the last 6 months since this thread started, been various fixes suggested. Seen no follow-up postings saying done this fix 2-3 months ago, is permanent & has had no adverse effects.

    Anyway I've tried some of the tricks shown in the following video so we'll see how it goes. Notice what he says about Windows and SSD drives towards the end of the video.

    I'm not advising anyone to try these tricks and I've only done them on a couple of systems. I've also broken down and done the RegEdit trick for turning off WaaS medic on two systems so we'll see how it goes next WaaS Day.

    On some systems I have found three "Package for Rollup Fix" folders in Windows>Servicing>LCU. I deleted them on one system and there were 304,000 files totaling 2.7 gigs that WaaS would grind away at reading every run. The WinSxS folder also gets scanned and it has almost 71,000 files at 6.4GB. All those file scanned EVERY SUNDAY for no apparent reason and I've had WaaS run on days other than the scheduled run of Sunday.

    Like I said at the beginning of this thread Window 10 is a PIG of an operating system.

    It would be better for you as an advisor to thoroughly research any link you provide here that claims to have a "solution". You even have to warn us there may be PUPs on that site. Whois lookup can't even find a registration for that link. Can you say for certain there is a fix for the WaaSmedic issue to be found at that link? As an "advisor" you should know that bad advice is worse than no advice at all.
