WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    I have ZERO patience for this nonsense. It is absolutely DISGUSTING the level of utter rubbish software this trillion dollar company is pushing out. Incompetence beyond belief.

    Absolutely, I demand an explanation as to why MS MALWARE is carrying out a denial of service attack on one of my computers every week. As a software developer it is utterly beyond me how such junk is allowed to go out the doors. The simply don't consider that not every computer running W10 is i7 spec with an SSD.

    This is from today's Waas Medic run. Actually 10 minutes although it only shows 9 minutes elapsed. It's from an i7 8700K system that is 6 core 12 thread and turbos at 4.7 GHz with 16 gigs of ram but still has a HDD. Ten minutes grinding away at 100% for NOTHING.

    I may be a cynic, but it appears to me, MS are actually reading this thread. Various solutions are being proffered but they all seem, at the best, temporary. Soon after someone suggests a possible solution, MS shut the door by updating the OS somewhere making the cure obsolete and shifting the problem elsewhere. I was daft enough to think by purchasing a new computer it was mine, apparently not, it is 'owned' by MS.

    What a complete F-ING **** show this is! This WaaSMedicAgent c**p has hogged one of my computers since I booted it up for at least 20 minutes so far.

    MICROSOFT!!!! You absolutely CANNOT run stuff like this when the user is trying to use the computer! You MUST REMEMBER what level of computer hardware that YOU pushed Windows 10 onto that were previously running 7 or 8. Many do NOT have SSD's. You simply cannot take over the system with 100% disk usage like this while it is in use. Same goes for Windows Updates scanning. DO NOT run it when the computer has just booted and the user is trying to open applications. This is basic stuff, even a 5yo can understand why I'm saying this.

    Windows 10 is a total disgrace in many regards. SORT IT OUT, what a completely unnecessary productivity killer this is. You should have your employees working 24/7 shift to urgently address this level of utter shocking software.

    Update: Now that's finished, you've decided to start running CompatTelRunner.exe, ANOTHER F-ING disk hogging performance killer!!!!!!!!!!!!!! **** are you on Microsoft? You have lost the plot, your OS literally fights the user for system resources! All completely UNNECESSARY.
