WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

    Keep your eye on this -we have had 5 monthly updates this year & I think we have had 3 updates to 'Update Health Tools' - could well sneak in thru' the back door again. All came thru' outside monthly WUD's & just updated in background unannounced.

    I checked services and its full name is "Windows Update Medic Service".

    The word "update" tells me it is allegedly updating something?

    However, all of the updates have been installed and I also am getting 100% disk usage.

    I've had issues with programs loading while in this state.

    My solution is to turn off the computer and then restart it.

    It seems to go away after the restart although not immediately.

    After reading this thread, I have to wonder if Microsoft has installed a spyware on our PC's and this is what this is all about?

    Solutions or affirmations of what Microsoft is doing would be nice.

    Judging from the non-reply from Microsoft it is a nefarious activity done intentionally in my mind. Otherwise, they would have responded to everyone by now so they are keeping quiet.

    I am tempted to terminate it to see what happens with the computer.  You can always reboot.

    After reading some other responses I do see that on 5-8-2021 Microsoft did an update on my computer titled:

    "KB4577586: Update for the removal of Adobe Flash Player: for windows 10 version 20H2 for x64-based systems"

    Important notes

    • Applying this update will remove Adobe Flash Player from your Windows device.
    • After this update has been applied, this update cannot be uninstalled.
    • This update only removes Adobe Flash Player that was installed by your version of Windows. If you installed Adobe Flash Player manually from another source, it will not be removed. For more information about how to remove Adobe Flash Player, see the Uninstall Flash Player | Windows topic on the Adobe website.

    This may be the culprit but it appears you may not be able to uninstall this.

    So like another poster indicated, try to flush your system manually of Adobe Flash Player and see if that works?

    I'll try the same.

    Tell you what, I just uninstalled the "Update Health Tools" that showed up a few months back  and my disk usage dropped off to normal immediately
