WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working

My computer slowed to a crawl. I cannot work. I checked task manager and saw a process waas Medic agent exe is the culprit. It is using 2.8 mb of memory and 1.2 mbs of disk usage.

I understand this is a Microsoft process. What I don't understand is what give Microsoft the right to take over my computer whenever it wants to and stop me from working.

How do I stop this?

Update (5/5/21) - Editing with some additional details.

Can some of you reporting high CPU or high disk usage of the WaasMedic agent create a Feedback Hub entry for me and share the Feedback URL on this thread?

The most important part would be the 'Recreate my Problem' recording while you see the high resource usage in Task Manager.

I want to promote some of these Feedback entries for investigation.

Updates:

Thank you for those who have been trying to file feedback. In some cases the system performance has prevented the use of Recreate my problem.

The Feedback is still useful without the recording, I will still raise those entries.

It is also useful if the Feedback is done shortly after the system is no longer experiencing the high disk usage, I will be calling out those entries as well.

Finally, I was not clear about the best Category and Sub Category selections. Please use Category: Install and update Sub Category: Downloading, installing, and configuring Windows Updates

Thanks,

Paul...

Four & a half months since this thread was started - in that time MS has post ONE response and that was to act dumb & to pass the onus of the problem to us users by using feedback hub. How did the supposed MS employee post this one response- evidently NOT by using Windows 10 otherwise he would be experiencing same problem as us. If they were concerned, why have they posted no updates - perhaps they assume we will go away. Perhaps we will by going over to other OS - as the saying goes 'no customers - no business'

Sometimes this even causes my computer to freeze. Microsoft should fix this.

    Paul:

As of May 17, 2021, five months after this forum thread "WaasMedic Agent Exe stopping me from working" was originated, 2488 other people have indicated they also have this problem.

You requested that problem reports also be submitted to Microsoft Feedback Hub, along with recreate my problem diagnostic info.

Search of feedback hub today shows:

20 reports and 6 comments entitled: waasmedic

2 reports and 1 comment entitled: wassmedic

2 reports and 1 comment entitled: medic

    1. Is the problem that 32 feedback hub reports and comments already submitted - with over 2400 forum user also commenting here - are not sufficient for Microsoft engineers to work on this?  If so, how many feedback hub submissions are necessary to get Microsoft engineers to investigate this matter?

    2. Is this a prioritization numbers game - until the number of waasmedic feedback hub submissions reaches the 1000s, it does not get attention from Microsoft engineers?

    3. If I have already reported this problem to feedback hub, should I submit a new feedback hub report every time it occurs?

    4. Why is it up to answers.microsoft.com forum users to also submit feedback hub reports and diagnostic data, if the problem has already been reported there?

    5. Does your request for forum users to submit diagnostic info via feedback hub mean that Microsoft has already tried and is unable to recreate the problem of waasmedic stopping productive work on our computers?

In five months on this thread I have seen no credible solutions or workarounds for this problem.

I have two computers. The one with hard disk drive has the waasmedic slowdown problem repeatedly. My newer computer with solid state drive is not affected.

    6. Is the defacto Microsoft status for waasmedic agent stopping computer work: Tough luck, buy a new computer with SSD?

    Thanks.

    Tooney
