Great to see another seafaring brethren. I couldn't quite resolve your uniform cover's insignia - Coast Guard? I see you were a Warrant Officer - not sure of the grade. I was a Naval Aviator for 8 years. Counting my trainers, I typed in 5 different AC. My primary role was reconnaissance. The best plane I ever flew was the North American Vigilante RA-5C. Like all of us, I'm aging up too. I retired from active flying 15 years ago. I too enjoy playing this sim, especially when you can complete your trip.

The abbreviation I used in my post - AV - references my anti-virus protection. I would not normally suggest to anyone they disable their computer's protection, but in this context I did that for a specific download. Here's a way to see your computer's update status: press the Windows key in the lower left corner of your keyboard - the key with the Windows symbol on it; when the Search field opens at the bottom left, type "winver" - without the quotes. When the status of your windows OS displays, make sure you have the latest version indicated: 21H1. If 21H1 is not indicated, then you have to download that update from Microsoft. Once you've established that you have 21H1 installed, follow the other directions I outlined above in my earlier post to download Flight Simulator. Good luck, Robert. Let us know how you make out.     The jerkiness can be adjusted by modifying the sensitivity for the joystick.  I had the same issue with mine, Logitech Wingman Strike Force 3D.  Go to Options | Controls, select your joystick and click on Sensitivity on the left side towards the top, just below keyboard.  I have my dead zone set to 25% which helps smooth controlling the plane.  Your computer is more than capable of handling this so it just may need a few game tweaks to play smoothly. 

    For those of us getting stuck in checking for updates, try uninstalling WSL (it's a piece of junk anyway).  My system no longer hangs when starting. 

    @241_man - From the home screen in the game,  go to World Update, click to visit the page, then click on Content Manager.  There should be several downloads available for you.  Download them all, training should be amongst that list.  For additional Planes, scenery, etc., go to https://flightsim.to .  there are lots of goodies there.

    Uninstalling and reinstalling wont help unfortunately, it seems the only thing people are having progress with is net limiter slowing your speed down to a crawl, great for the people who still have access to the game. It's such a damn shame and I'm glad I only wasted 20 or 30 euro when I was nearly like you spending over 100 on it. Id suggest trying to get a refund because my complaints have definitely fallen through the cracks and I couldn't take back subscription fee. All the support tickets get marked as resolved unless you continually reply saying no your **** servers still cant handle the download no matter what I do on my end. This was close to being the most perfect simulator of all time and I never even got to play it. I honestly want to cry knowing that people get to experience this when all I got was to watch the biggest joke in all of computing history that never actually happens, a download that goes **** BACKWARDS.
