I recently updated to Windows 10 20H2 from 2004. Since then I have been experiencing random freezes, lock-ups, and unresponsiveness. I could be watching a video and the video would pause, the touchpad won't respond, touch won't work, and the power key won't sign me off. The only option I am left with is to press and hold the power button to force-restart the laptop.
I am using Lenovo 920 with i7 8th gen 512 SSD and 16 GB of RAM.
Please, send help.

When my computer freezes after about 20 minutes the only thing that works is the power button to turn it off. Nothing else works, I have tried all the recommended fixes, had Microsoft restore the system, nothing works to correct this problem that occurred when I updated windows 10 Home
Let me ask you something.... when you turn off your computer, does it turn off or does it stay on forcing you to manually shut it off?
I just got a freeze after almost 2 weeks, so disk defrag disable doesn't work. Was away from my laptop for around 20 minutes, when I came back, same deal as before: when I tried to open "This PC", desktop froze; when I tried to open Start, taskbar froze; clicking randomly on the desktop out of frustration made my mouse cursor move sluggishly. Noticed a new thing though: I unplugged my mouse, when I plugged it back in, I couldn't use it anymore, which leads me to believe that my hdd wasn't working anymore, but the error check and event viewer don't report any issues with it. Because this issue is still present on 21H1, which I currently run on both my desktop and my laptop, and because my desktop is completely fine, it looks like the freezes happen because something is affecting the hdd. Whether is the driver or the power plan or both, is really hard to say since there really is no way to replicate the problem. I am completely baffled, and I'm an IT engineer which has done his fair share of debugging. To think that 10 replies and 200+ people having this issue would signal some sort of attention or acknowledgement :(
Thanks for the update. I am still facing the same issue after I updated to the latest 21H1 as well. And I agree with you. There is something affecting the HDD because I have a light indicator on my laptop and it blinks whenever I turn on my laptop signaling that the HDD is working and nothing is wrong with the laptop. Each time my laptop freezes up, the light will stop blinking. Event viewer is definitely not showing enough info. All I got was event ID 41. That's because I had to hard reboot my laptop when it freezes up. It's crazy how this issue is not being address at all.

I just updated to the 21H1 version of Windows few hours ago and my laptop froze twice so far.
I don't know what else to do.
That sucks, I was hoping 21H1 would resolve the issue - I found this site that lists all the changes -

Maybe I'll just stay on v2004 for now....kinda afraid to try 21H1 if other people are still having the lockups.
