BSOD Loop - CorsairVBusDriver.sys failure

After running optional system update for Corsair devices, my ASUS RoG G771 laptop is completely unusable.  It's stuck in a BSOD reboot loop and not one recovery method is working.  I wasn't provided a recovery disk with the laptop and apparently it's unable to boot from USB.  I can't even reset the OS because it prompts for an outlook.com password and says the one I provide is incorrect (I've confirmed I am entering the latest password for the account and it's working on other devices).  Safe mode doesn't work, either.

Others have posted this on the Corsair forum and the company doesn't answer.  My laptop is now a boat anchor and I'm desperate for a solution...

    Probably.  I'm limited to the command line until I can figure something else out.  I'm also even more sure that a recovery partition is restoring the bad driver, so I need to figure out how to disable that as well.

    You will likely need to remove the Corsair Utility Engine to stop the OS from loading any staged drivers. Alternatively, an update may be available to this utility: https://help.corsair.com/hc/en-us/articles/3600...

    Thanks for your reply.

    I found out how to make the laptop boot from USB (by changing one BIOS setting that wasn't obvious) but that turned out to be a dead end.  I made a recovery DVD though and that gets me to the command line.

    Bottom line, the Corsair driver is preventing the laptop from booting, and I can't get rid of it.  A simple delete doesn't work of course, since it's restored from the driver store on reboot, but even deleting the OEM##.INF files using pnputil has no permanent effect: the INF files come back on reboot, too...

    edit: starting to suspect the INFs are being restored from another partition :(

    "...it's unable to boot from USB." Why? All modern computer should be able to boot from USB, otherwise there would be no way to install the OS. To create Windows 10 installation boot media, see this Microsoft article: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-downlo....
