2024-02-29T20:44:20+00:00 I also have two identical PCs that came with Windows 10 Pro preloaded. I upgraded only one machine's OS to Windows 11 and immediately lost audio on it. Neither machine has a Realtek audio device. I agree with your guess that someone at MS did either willfully or accidentally exclude probably MANY sound devices from recognition by the Win 11 OS. I'm not a computer engineer either so don't quite know how they did it but they sure as heck did it. I also agree with your admonition to Raju to stop wasting our time and money trying to fix this problem with wild guesses. Unless he personally was involved in writing the code for Win 11, he is in the same sub-knowledge status as everyone else in this community about this particular problem that goes back to Redmond, WA, the HQ of the dark lords of chaos.

2024-02-29T09:37:04+00:00 The problem is windows 11 sadly it's likely they have programmed in something to bomb systems using dated hardware and that can sometimes happen in a new and even high end device just because they wanted to stick with something tried and tested but microsoft don't agree it seems and until someone other that Raju actually reaches out with a solution or at least an explanation to why this problem only seems to affect laptops and not desktops even with matching audio devices on the boards (my laptop and desktop both use the same realtek audio device but my desktop mobo is 2 years older manufacture date than my laptop)

I totally agree. Other than a large vanity that guy has no qualifications to be posing as a "volunteer moderator." Studying mathematics at a college does not make anyone a competent computer engineer.
