I am unable to change the name of my bluetooth ear buds. I have tried the control panel/hardware and devices/ properties but there is no "bluetooth" tab or option to rename. I am using Win 11 Home Version 10.0.22621 Build 22621. Please help.

2 yrs later and I'm finally seeing this. Thank you! Windows is as bad as Android when it comes to scattered & buried Settings.

It also works when I open the old school Control Panel>Sound and click the device, then Properties. Type new name. Hit Apply. Voila.

you can try using Windows PowerShell with the following steps:

Press Windows key + X and select "Windows PowerShell (Admin)."

Type the command Get-PnpDevice -Class Bluetooth and press Enter.

Find the device name of your ZVOX AV30 earbuds in the list.

Copy the "InstanceID" value for your earbuds.

Type the command Get-PnpDeviceProperty -InstanceID <InstanceID> -KeyName "DEVPKEY_Device_FriendlyName" and press Enter. Replace <InstanceID> with the value you copied.

The current name of your earbuds will be displayed in the output.

To rename your earbuds, type the command Set-PnpDevice -InstanceID <InstanceID> -FriendlyName "<NewName>" and press Enter. Replace <InstanceID> with the value you copied, and <NewName> with the new name you want to give your earbuds.

Restart your computer and check if the new name appears for your earbuds.

If you do not see the option to rename the device through the Settings app, you can also try the following steps:

Press the Windows key + X on your keyboard to open the Quick Link menu.

    Select "Device Manager."

    Expand the "Bluetooth" section.

Right-click on the ZVOX AV30 earbuds and select "Properties."

In the Properties window, click on the "General" tab.

Click on the "Change settings" button.

In the Bluetooth Properties window, click on the "Advanced" tab.

In the "Device name" field, type in the new name for the earbuds.

Click on the "OK" button to save the new name.
