cannot rename bluetooth device on Win 11

I think the problem is, i couldn't see the name change until i disconnected and reconnected. Which means i had to guess which one of 3 was the one that was connected. So...minor issue. Problem solved, for me. Thank you!!!!!

Yes I have the same issue. I used the solutions of this thead to get it to work. (and it should not be this broken but here we are).

When I restart my computer it loses all the renamed changes and defaults back to the manafature's names. It's a nightmare.

I can't believe I had to go through 3 pages of results to solve this.

Would like to emphasise that you have to turn bluetooth off then on again to get this to work. Otherwise it looks like the rename does nothing.

MS is so complicates!
But here's a solution. (please try it)

1. Open "Control Panel" (you can search it Win + "Control Panel").
2. Click on "Hardware and Sound" .
3. Click on "Devices and Printers". Now if it brings you to Settings, all you have to do is right-click on "Devices and Printers" then select "open".
4. Find the device you want to rename and open its properties, by double-clicking it or right-click on the device then select "Properties".
5. At the top of the opened window, go to the "Bluetooth" page. Click or double-click the name of the device, finally rename it whatever you want, make sure to click apply and done.

IMPORTANT: If the device's name is still the same as before, simply turn off bluetooth and turn it back and reconnect.
