Explorer Patcher is great! I would recommend it.

Unfortunately, security doesn't allow me to install it on my work laptop. Understandable, given that it replaces Windows system files. The bottomline is that we shouldn't have to resort to a third-party hack for such absolutely basic, fundamental customization options.

I am a recent victim to the enhanced features of Windows 11, getting company "upgrade". I do not have admin permission to patch. I didn't know how lucky i was to decline the "upgrade" to Windows 11 on my personal. I also use 3 monitors. One horizontal and one vertical, and the laptop screen for emails and tasks. Not having the side task bars does not let me multi task. So last century.

I can only hope continual posts to this message board will force MS to bring back the side task bar! Please!

I agree. I only use my laptop for emails, internet, spreadsheets etc (no gaming) but all computer screens are landscape format - taking away a strip at the bottom (and there is already a strip at the top used up with tabs) means you end up looking at a narrow strip of screen across the middle and have to scroll down more. I'm not a technical person so I can't follow some of the suggestions people have made to solve this problem. Whose idea was it to take away the option to move it? It's really annoying.

Same here. I try changing in the Registry, but it just changes back automatically. Going from Windows 10 to 11 was definitely not an upgrade in my eyes!!!
