Camera Missing In Device Manager

My Camera is not showing in Device Manager.

Before I did a scan for any changes I noticed the name in which I named my computer during one of the requests when setting up the Windows 11 installation was not there however after the scan the name was there and when I opened it there was the option to add drivers. My question is should I proceed with adding the drivers?

I just purchased a new computer and went through the motions of installing Windows and I have the same going on in this computer. It's like a spreading cancer however when I check the properties of what folders I do have scattered around the first part of the path after the user is One Drive. Has One Drive taken over my computers?

    Hi,

      I have a Dell 5289 laptop and faced the "camera not found in device manager" issue recently after a long windows update on Jan 22. None of the suggested "fixes" worked and I thought that the camera hardware had some issue and may need replacement. But being a tech enthusiast for over three decades I decided to remove the updates but still the camera was not showing in the device manager!!  I then reflashed the BIOS via USB drive. Lo and behold !! the camera was now in the device manager and working fine !!

    So, microsoft please do check your updates thoroughly befoe they are released to the public....nobody wants nuisance.

    I have tried that but nothing is working for me, it was fine before I took it to the repair shop and now it won't work no matter what I try. It's really sad because I have some meetings to do and with my camera not working it will not be good for me. Checking for new hardware on the sound, video and game controllers tab does nothing... I would really appreciate it if someone found a fix for it.

    The same thing is happening to me. My camera driver just suddenly disappeared. No solution or help from the IT team at the company I work for. This must be a new issue.

    Please try this one more solution

    Open Settings.

    Click on Apps.

    Click on Apps & features.

    Select the Camera from the list.

    Click the Advanced options link. Mail app Advanced options link.

    Click the Reset button.

    Click the Reset button again to confirm.

    Restart your device.

    The more I get into these issues the more I come across.

    If I go to start and click photos with my camera in the USB port it brings up my photos to be imported which I do.

    Now when it goes to adding a folder as which I have done in the past, folders would be made however now when I go to make a folder I am taking to Kenneth's Personal photos which in turn appears that it can only make photos in one drive.

    As far as before if I click Camera I still get the same message. I notice there is no eye in the upper part of the computer and wonder if this computer even has the camera feature and if not it will be going back to the dealer.

    This is getting so frustrating.
