recently my windows 11 PC has been showing a black screen after i login. i can still use my cursor, and i can use Ctrl Alt Del to open task manager, but it isn’t very useful as it just closes immediately. i have tried many troubleshooting steps, such as starting in safe mode and editing the bios, among others. but, no matter what i try, nothing works.

i have a prebuilt CyberpowerPC C-series gaming PC from 2019, with an AMD ryzen 5 5600 series CPU, a Gigabyte B450M motherboard, and an AMD geforce RX graphics card ( i do not know the exact model number ). I have made no hardware modifications to the PC.

Latest Win11 update KB5046633 caused my black screen on a Lenovo ideapad3.

Uninstalling the update fixed the problem.

Then re-ran windows update... black screen again.

Moral of story... Don't install KB5046633!

I had the same problems as others here, black screen on Win11 presumably after an update.
After trying all the methods described with no results, this one finally worked.

I manually uninstalled the KB5046633 update using "wusa.exe /uninstall /kb:5046633" from the prompt and after a reboot the desktop reappeared. Thanks for the advice!

I finally found the origin of all the problems on my dekstop (black screen because windows explorer not starting, unreliable network connections, MS store not working, windows update hanging and more) .... it seems it was a buggy motherboard.
Got hint from a pro about people having problems with motherboards from that mainstream supplier - I used/bought for years for their quality.
Replacing the MB with a competitors one with the same chipset keeping all the other hardware and the problems seem to have vanished (I obviously also uninstalled all the previous MB's apps and drivers).

I prefer not to mention the manufacturers name as this is a public forum.

Mostafa hi, I get it that you try to help but in your answer you suggest solutions that require the monitor NOT TO BE BLACK in order to be performed. Please try again but listen to the question first.
