Lightshot not working after windows update

Just bumping to say, this is what fixed it for me. I have two Win11 machines, one where lightshot was broken and the other (newer!) where it worked fine. Again, the app was not showing in the system tray, so there was no way to access settings or use an alternative method to trigger screen capture, there was simply no way to interface with the process at all.

The difference was the Intel Arc graphics driver, lightshot was back where it belongs upon reboot after installation. Hope this helps someone else.

Edit: my machine in question is a Razer Blade, with nvidia's Optimus. aka, it switches dynamically between integrated and discrete graphics processors/display adapters based on load/demand. I didn't have to fiddle in any control panel, the Intel driver & support assistant simply told me to update the Intel graphics driver, and that solved it. As an aside, that driver (and the two wireless drivers it asked me to update) do NOT show up in the "optional updates" section of Windows Update, no matter how many times I refresh it and check.

I got tired fixing issue with lightshot not showing up in the tray and used the alternative you mentioned. It does lack a feature or two, but is a great alternative for me, as it has the feature to prompt file name dialog box before saving (you have to put some ticks in the setting to enable this feature) as I like to put in keywords in my screenshot image for better searchability of the image in the future.

Acctually solution with turning off "Use the print screen key to open snipping tool" solves the problem with Lightshot on my PC (win 11).]

Another point but I think it is rather other case is to remember that on some PCs one needs to combine "fn" key with "prt sc" to use "prt sc" instead of F12.

I modified the Hotkey in lightshot as Ctrl + Print Screen so the default for snipper is PrtSc and for lightshot it is with Ctrl. I know this is not exact but similar way to solve until bug fix.
