Mouse click randomly stops working in windows 11

I would like to know if you have any ability to submit a ticket to the Windows 11 Shell Explorer team regarding this issue.

It is plainly obvious from the mass number of people who are reporting this issue, that your instructions are the wrong instructions to give out here.

My PC had this issue. I formatted my PC over the weekend, and this issue re-occurred on the FIRST LOGIN ATTEMPT.

This behavior made it's first appearance on the first reboot after the last set up updates. It is plainly clear that there is a bug that needs to be fixed.

I am requesting that you please retract your answer here as it is clearly not the correct solution.

Asking people who's mouse cannot activate the Shell Desktop without triggering a CTRL + ALT + DELETE to perform the steps below are both dangerous and frankly ludicrous.

I appreciate your attempts to help here, but in the future I would advise that you please perform some basic trouble shooting before you ask someone to DELETE FILES OFF OF THEIR PC.

I understand the issue you have, there is nothing to worry I am here to help, this issue happens due to the miscalibration of system files, in addition, are there any changes before the issue starts? like have you downloaded or installed any apps, that you think may trigger the issue? while waiting for your response, kindly follow the steps below:

Method 1. Clear cache of File Explorer

-Open Run Command ( Press Windows key + R)

-Copy, paste, and enter the file path below:

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations

Delete everything inside the AutomaticDestinations folder

-Restart PC and check

Method 2. Do clean boot:
A “clean boot” starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and startup programs, so that you can determine whether a background program is interfering with your game or program.

• In the search box on the taskbar, type msconfig and select System Configuration from the results.
• On the Services tab of System Configuration, select Hide all Microsoft services, and then select Disable all.
• On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select Open Task Manager.
• Under Startup in Task Manager, for each startup item, select the item and then select Disable.
• Close Task Manager.
• On the Startup tab of System Configuration, select OK. When you restart the computer, it's in a clean boot environment.

Note: If the issue persists, try to change the mouse just to check, if the issue persists, we may need to roll back mouse driver and or run system repair.

I've uninstalled all Logitech Softwares and it seems to be OK..

I tried 1 day and DID NOT had any bug.

Then I installed "LOGI OPTIONS PLUS" v1.60.6306 (downloader, 29 Mo) according to my bluetooth mouse.

I don't have bugs anymore.

I think when an user connects a Mouse, W11 identifies the device and downloads the Logitech software. But it might download an outdated version or an inapropriate one. For example, there's also "Logitech Options" software v. 10.10.58.0 (245 Mo at this time) but I didn't install it. First it was installed at the same time as "Logi options plus" and I had many bugs.

About Razers Mouse I suggest uninstalling all softwares and apps automatically downloaded by W11. Then download and install ONLY the software recommended by the manufacturer.

Let us know what it happens.

I've tried everything, absolutely everything listed in this forum, been trying that for over a month now, the problem persisted. A few days ago even my games started acting weird, it was starting to be unplayable (unlocked camera in game, league of legends, started moving on its own, similar to if you put your cursor on the edge of the screen), the thing is, it was periodical, I've installed the program you listed, X-Mouse Button Control and started to investigate, it turned out that my MIDDLE MOUSE BUTTON, so not the scrolling but the button press would periodically press and stay pressed for some 10 seconds and then turn off, i just disabled the button in the program and haven't had the mouse problem since, praying it stays that way, hope this helps someone, thank you once again!

J'ai fait toutes ces choses, car ces étapes correspondent au résultat initial de ma recherche sur Internet. Je suis même allé jusqu'à éliminer tous les services sauf Microsoft lors de mon démarrage, puis j'ai lentement ajouté d'autres services et processus pour affiner systématiquement la cause du problème.

Démarrer avec rien d'autre que les services Microsoft a en fait résolu le problème. Cependant, dans tous les cas, dès que j'ai ajouté quelque chose, cela a cessé de fonctionner. Peu importe ce que j'ai ajouté au démarrage.

Un dépannage plus approfondi m'a amené à constater que cela ne se produit qu'avec les souris sans fil, car une souris filaire semble fonctionner sans problème. J'ai essayé une souris Razer et 2 modèles différents de souris sans fil logitec. Tous avaient le même problème.

J'utilise maintenant une souris Razer filaire sans problème. Cependant, cela ne résout pas le problème, ce n’est qu’une solution de fortune à laquelle je suis obligé. La seule chose que je n'ai pas encore essayée est d'exécuter le sans fil en tant que périphérique Bluetooth sans utiliser le dongle, ce que je serai heureux de faire si cela aide à trouver une solution.

Cela reste un mystère car aucun de mes ordinateurs portables fonctionnant sous Win 11 n'a ce problème avec les souris sans fil.

I use a Logitech mouse MX Anywhere 3 in Bluetooth and I have the same problem. On a fresh install of W11 family 21H2, I only installed :

• Chrome, Firefox, LibreOffice, 7zip, Klite Mega Codec Pack, OpenShell, Paint.net, TeraCopy, WinDirStat, Wise Registry Cleaner, restored the Right Clic Menu as W10 by adding a key to registry.

As soon as I connected the Bluetooth mouse the main click began to bug.

I suspected the automatic registry optimizations in Wise Registry Cleaner to be the origin of the problem. But reading all your messages let me understand it's not responsible. I've been using this software for more than 10 years without any problem, but we know it's not a proof...

So I've formatted the PC and reinstalled 1 per 1 every software, made changes to W11 except OpenShell and Right Click restoration.

I did not use any wireless mouse : I don't have any more problem about this bug. So I'm afraid of going ahead with connecting a Bluetooth mouse...

I add I had the same problem on another PC last more just after an update, I don't remember which one but approximately on December 2023. I thought it was my mouse or a conflict between various Logitech Softwares (Logi+, Logitech Options, ...). But now I had the same problem on a fresh new PC and understood it's a Microsoft bug
