Problem persists in Windows 11 version 24H2

I just installed the latest 24H2 update for Windows 11 last week. Unfortunately, the "Expand to open folder" issue is still there in Explorer. If the updates are not resolving this issue for users, then I suspect this issue can only be a bug. This feature failed to work on day one after receiving my new computer.

A search on the internet is not revealing any solution to this widespread problem.

The only way to move forward is for thousands of users to report this issue through Microsoft's feedback app. I suggest including a short video demonstrating how the Expand to Open Folder feature fails to work. Describe the problem. And check the box asking Microsoft to contact you.

Same here. Windows 11 file explorer is a joke, right? It's the most counterproductive version I have used in over 20 years. The poorly disorganized structure, the home tab that doesn't expand (favorites always worked), the broken expand option that doesn't expand selected folders in the navigation pane....

and then the nerve of Microsoft to force us all to be our own IT and run regedits instead of having proper UI for these options. Honestly, I think the new tab function is stupid and I see only bad things from the Windows 11 version. Trying to navigate to files has become a chore that takes up to 10x longer than it used to.

I've checked several forums and this is obviously a bug from an update. Perhaps someone from Microsoft will be reading this thread and let us know when the bug will be fixed. It's very irritating to open a file or folder and not be able to see the directory tree without more clicking.

Brilliant. Perfect since I much prefer using the keyboard than the mouse. Is this something you've always known or did you have to do some research?

I got badly burned by libraries years ago. I ain't going back. I'd rather live with this minor annoyance and adjust than use a tool that proved less than useless in the years when it emerged.

    But that's me...
