2023-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 22H2 for x64-based Systems (KB5030219) Is Now Available

I factory reset my computer and it fixed the problem. I tried everything else.

Many known issues in this update from here to Over at reddit:

The update took over an hour for me to complete.

When it got to 25% I was starting to think it just froze up. Nope, I just have to let it do it's thing and let it do it's thing. " If you turn off or restart your computer during an update, you can mess up your computer even more".

So, finally, I am at my desktop. Every thing is slooow. Open up a browser, slow, open up file explorer slow, etc..., slow.

On another computer, I was able to "Google" how to uninstall Windows Updates on Windows 11. And I found something pretty quick.

So on my slow computer, I was able to go to:

Settings->Windows Updates->Update History...

Scroll all the way down to Uninstall updates, open that.

For me, I was able to see the new KB5030219 in there.

I uninstalled it, after the computer booted, everything was back to normal for me.

Yes, Windows will still install this bad update, "ready for restart". BUT, don't restart your computer for it to install all the way. just uninstall it again like above if needed.

For me, I paused the updates so it wont keep trying to install the bad update. That was my choice I took. I'll keep doing that until Microsoft decides to actually use there skillz and knowledge to make a good update. until then... I can play Starfield...

I used an external monitor so that I could go to Settings-> Recovery->Advanced startup and restarted my laptop. After that, I was able to get the display back on my laptop.

Exactly the same issue on Windows Dev Kit, black screen after the update 😭
