Clipboard problems (can not copy/paste) in Windows 11

I'm on Windows 10 and pretty much have the exact same problem... one tell-tale sign that it's about to happen to me though is if I let me computer go into Sleep mode. But the random times that it disables is way more annoying, obviously, since it's unexpected.

The only way to get the feature back is a restart of the machine.

Hello Roman, I can assure you that Microsoft is working on the problem. I have over 47 years in IT and I have been working with Level 3 and Engineering on the issue since March 2024. I suggest you do not go back to Windows 10 as you may still have the problem. I too have done numerous re-installs of Windows and Microsoft Office and it still fails. I did find a work around until they find a fix, and it's been working for me. My copy and paste usually fails after 24 hours so I have to do a re-boot to restore the function. I have enabled a task to reboot the P/C at 5am every day and that seems to work just fine.

Her are the steps to schedule a task for a re-boot. I also have dual monitors and that is not the issue. I have done numerous testing with Level 3 gathering information for them, I also switched to Microsoft Office 365 and the problem still occurred. Hope this helps.

To schedule an automatic reboot for your PC, you can use the Task Scheduler feature in Windows. Here are the steps to set it up:

1. Press the Windows key to open the Start menu.
2. Type “Task Scheduler” in the search field and select the corresponding result.
3. In the Task Scheduler, click on “Create task”.
4. Provide a descriptive name for the task.
5. Go to the “Triggers” tab and click “New” to create a new trigger.
6. Select “On a schedule”, choose the “Daily” radio option, and set the desired time for the reboot.
7. In the “Actions” tab, click “New”.

From now on, your Windows PC will automatically reboot according to the configured schedule. Before restarting, it will display a message, allowing active users to save their work. If you ever want to disable the scheduled restart, simply find the task in Task Scheduler, right-click on it, and select "Disable"

I switch off my laptop every day and usually don't have it on for more than 8-10 hours. But the problem is still there and can even happen already within the 1st hour I boot it up.

That is hilarious. I was scratching my head for quite a while about this and did not know what to think. But now I see the problem is here and quite famous too. For me it happens from time to time, completely randomly, I was not able to identify any pattern why it suddenly starts and stops working for no reason.

I only have one monitor. When cut/paste stops working it also causes my mouse to not work on the restart or start icons. Had to create a desktop shortcut which now allows me to restart my computer and then cut/paste works for a while. This problem has been around for several years. Why can’t MS fix it or at least indicate why it happens so often. Thinking about dropping back to W10 although I don’t look forward to all the work to reinstall my software.
