All USB devices Disconnect randomly on Windows 11.

All of my USB devices randomly disconnect and will sometimes reconnect on their own in 10-20 seconds. Other times when they do not reconnect I have to completely restart the PC to get devices back working. I have tried uninstalling drivers for the USB roothubs and devices with no luck of a fix. I have not seen this issue addressed elsewhere or corrected. Other instances have not been similar to mine and this issue was non existent before upgrading to Win11. I even did a repair install of Win11 with no luck either. Any help or fixes would be greatly appreciated.

at this point. those who are facing this issue shouldnt start changing things
its not anything we've changed', unless you changed something to make this happen.
    in my case no..
so why should i change anything trying to chase a bug that i didnt cause.

Ha ha..! Thanks for doing that, it helps a lot. I think with my own experimenting it does sound like we might have a possible workaround - Disable Edge from Startup!

Not wishing to count my chickens but this probably does need a little more input from the community before we can say it's an absolute but at least you and I both now have a verifiable workaround for now. Sounds like you might need to install a different browser after all, either that or see what happens with Edge set to launch manually when you need it.

Hopefully others can add some feedback here for good measure.

    Dr Slinky,

I watched about 4 hours of video yesterday. It absolutely sucked. 2 hours of no Microsoft edge and 2 hours with. Surprisingly, 3 disconnects with Microsoft edge open and 0 without! So now we know Windows 11 from May 21st Update, Usb 3.0 and 3.1 as well as Microsoft edge. I ran cine bench for 30 minutes with Microsoft edge open with 4 disconnects and 30 minutes without with 0.

hmmmm, I don't use chrome, as i never installed it lol, now that i think of it, my disconnects mainly happen when edge is open! Ill run my pc for a few hours today and just record on a camera or something while edge is open then a few hours while its not! ill let you guys know what happens!

That sounds like a plan, at least you'll be able to see what's happening on your system. Don't relish watching the video back though!

Regarding Edge running in the background, I just noticed this is by design, it always runs in the background consuming precious resources. A quick check in 'Settings' - 'Apps' - 'Startup'' shows that it runs at startup and it's impact is 'HIGH'. As I say I rarely use Edge anymore so I've set it to disabled on my system. It would be interesting to see if anyone else here who's having USB disconnects could verify if disabling Edge at Startup has any impact?

Apparently Edge is set to start automatically at system start for a couple of reasons, none of which seem worth the extra drain on resources.., First, running in the background ensures the browser opens right when you need it, so you don't then waste time waiting for the browser page to load. Personally I'd rather wait a second or two, than have a permanent drain in the background, especially if it is impacting USB performance.

Maybe is a Intel CPU + ASUS Motherboard problem.
13th and 14th Intel cpu generation.

    I have i9 13900kf and Motherboard ASUS z790p

I haven't usb problem from 3 weeks, but I have an random applications crash and "STATUS ACCESS VIOLATION" random internet problem. (random appears on all browser expecially when I'm browsing on Linkedin, Facebook, Upwork, Youtube and other social or website with services that require a constant input and output data traffic (as if suddendly the power to the network card stopped, like what happends with USB port)

I found a Reddit post when other people have same problem and same cpu intel + asus mb.

https://www.reddit.com/r/chrome/comments/1cy9twz/constant_crashes_on_chrome_status_access/On this post i found a interested link:

    https://community.intel.com/t5/Processors/June-2024-Guidance-regarding-Intel-Core-13th-and-14th-Gen-K-KF/m-p/1607807
    I
don't know when I can change the voltage setting and I'm afraid of making mistrake and messing things up.

MAYBE the usb issue and this issues are connected...

When ASUS MB website will be online, I'll found a new BIOS update

Crashes are from instability with intels 13-14th gen cpus
