How do I disable Copilot and all Other AI functionality in Windows 11 PRO

its not the future on my computer, even if i have to only use old computers

We need to create more powerfull hardware to run those large language model continualy and it is becoming a chalenge to do so already. and untill we do so, all those ai you like have their library prunned and are stuttering because of the limitation in their processor.

there are a number of topic that they can't process either. complicated things like advanced mathematic, astrophisic, oceanography and nature topic, art and psychology to name a few. and their training data pool never contain ALL the information on the internet before their access cutoff. and even if it did, can you say that all of the internet is truth, nothing but the truth and the whole truth of all the event that ever happened ? no, its filled with garbage.

untill those limitation have solution, viable solution ai will only be an immitation of what you would like them to be.

so yes, ai are "joke".

and yes ai is nothing more than a new gimmic that big tech would like to sell us. much like large pharmaceutical conglomerate would like to sell you weigh-reducing pill instead of just telling you to eat better.

ai arent and never will be an all powrfull tool. because its alway gonna be trained on data created by humans. therefor, question that humans don'T know, ai won't know either. go and ask it if there is life on titan. it won't know. because human don't know. and thats in the training data. if we want real scientific advance, it won't go trought ai.

the only thing it will do, maybe a little, is exacerbate problem in the job market by advancing automatisation.

and people will continu to use it to make simulacrum scientific paper and similacrum their exams at school.

its pathetic and its the truth. (its not the fault of the larga language model, don't misunderstand. its literaly a tool the fault fall on peoples having twisted expectation of it and/or exploiting it for their own gain)

Microsoft states that the screenshots and database(s) are encrypted, but I think that any powerful AI APP or utility, especially one that runs in the background, lacks openness and transparency.

Because most are proprietary in nature, there is (AFAIK) going to be a great lack of viable tools to verify vendors claims for ANY such AI models.

Even the OpenAI group is NOT open about how it trains it's AI models according to Mozilla, and is even fighting a major court case brought by the New York Times – asking them to explain its use of personal data and copyrighted content in its AI models.

This shows that the big companies developing this technology are hiding behind the "proprietary" wall, to avoid any oversight and responsibility.

It only takes a minor coding error to open up a hackers paradise, and therefore I put this in the same basket as IoT firmware, as regards security and privacy.

Data Breaches make big news (Optus, AT&T, Medibank, Ticketmaster to name a few), but this does NOT help those affected.

I believe that we should ALL be aware of the inherent risks that this sort of AI poses, and do our utmost to reduce our attack surface, whether that is in a Home network, or a business setting.

So, turn off what you do not need, or what might pose a security or privacy risk. As I see it, COPILOT is more useful to the Microsoft AI LLM systems than it is to users.

I misunderstood the question. I thought the OP wanted to know how to turn it off, not which one is better and why the user should make different choices because in your world view AI is all that and a bag of chips. I especially liked when Chap-GPT said to add glue to PC to keep the cheese from slipping off and my personal favorite (again from your preferred AI) was to eat rocks and gravel to increase the minerals in your diet.

I'd recommend Linux Mint. It's free, open source, installs easier than Windows (because it has most drivers built in), and has thousands of free programs that you can download. Anything that you can do in windows you do in Linux Mint, for free!
