These errors started for me about a week and a half ago... I have had a couple complete PC freezes but no BSOD. I have to manually shut off my PC due to unresponsiveness and its refusal to crash. It seems to cause full PC freezes that last about 1-2 seconds while playing games, watching youtube videos, etc. I have also like many here, reinstalled windows after completely wiping my PC and using a Windows 11 media installation tool via USB. Immediately after my reinstall and log on, I checked event viewer and what do you know, its still there. Thankfully my PC is still usable with no BSOD but the stuttering in even Microsoft word to gaming is driving my patience into the ground. It took me forever to narrow down what was causing my latency spikes as of recently, especially using LatencyMon the spikes are over 19,000 Microseconds typically for my interrupt to process. I've spent cumulatively 20 hours troubleshooting this issue only to find this forum where there are no solutions for Microsoft. Very disappointing.

For context here are my specs:

OS: Windows 11 Pro

GPU: 4080 Asus ROG

CPU: Intel i9-11900k (tried no OC and no XMP)

MOBO: Asus ROG Strix Z590-E

Ram: 32gb Corsair Vengeance (Compatible with my MOBO)

PSU: Corsair Hx1500i

Windows Drive: Sabrent Rocket 1Tb M.2

BIOS: Version 2001 (have been running this version since the day after it was released)

MORE than adequate cooling.

Tried disabling drivers in device manager, ONLY installing drivers from Asus's website, unplugging all USB devices and running LatencyMon but still getting high spikes from Windows .sys processes (which from all my troubleshooting I can only discern that it is caused by this Metadata hangup issue.) and I have tried all possible fixes within this forum AND more. I'm at a loss, at the mercy of Microsoft to fix this issue. In the meantime I have disabled device installation in hopes it helps. I feel very sorry for the people that are getting the BSOD as a result from this.

I would include screenshots but when I attempt to, it says that it failed to upload. lol. Basically LOTS of event ID 202 warnings every few seconds and Event ID 131 on every user log on/ reboot. Lovely

I get over 60 errors like this in my event viewer every 10 seconds! it's BEYOND frustrating!

Today I feel like that I had enough of this problem and decided to perform full sweep with clean install for windows 11.

Again its CLEAN install.

and guess that should fixed it right?

NO it still giving me BSOD even after that.

Hello friends, just an update - Please go to "Feedback Hub" in your machine (type that in the start button) and provide the feedback directly to Microsoft regarding this issue. I have done the same. While selecting the issues under "post installation issues" (*something like that), it asks to select the kind of issue you are getting. there's option of "Metadata Staging Failed" issue as well. Select it. Don't forget to mark it as high priority (there's a check button). Please do log into your Microsoft account when asked. Also let the Microsoft collect the diagnostic data.

Hopefully they will send some solution in upcoming days. (Till the time we don't get any solution, this is the best we can do from our end)

my problem was my usb card working then it wouldnt , then it would work fine for a week , a day , an ahour , a reboot ,, is why it took me longer to trouble shoot....... went to the cards site and found write up on returning the inferior usb 3.2 card and i replaced it and my pc world is back to norm............
