Sorry to disagree but that is technically incorrect. there is nothing wrong with the registry entry.

Microsoft changed the URL for the Metadata API so the old registry entry calls the old URL but it has a redirect to the new one.

Changing the registry key to the new URL does not fix it because the new URL is broken. It returns a Service Unavailable to an HTTPS request.

That is Microsoft's problem not anyone elses and you can not fix it.

Usually this is caused by an incorrect entry in the registry.

Click your Start Button, type regedit and hit Enter to open the Registry Editor.

Click View and make sure 'Address Bar' is turned on.

Paste this into the Address Bar at the top and hit Enter.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Device Metadata

Please provide a screenshot of that Registry Editor page.

If this is indeed true, which I can believe to be quite possible. I can't say I am surprised, but definitely disappointed

that Microsoft should do more to support it's customers. Microsoft - please get your act together and show some respect

Tests were conducted manually by the team and through automated testing, and if tests were passed, would give the okay to integrate the code into Windows... The main sources of testing data, apart from the automated test systems that are in place, comes from Telemetry... FYI, I disabled that option in the May 3rd week. However, the driver updates install as usual.
