nvidia display settings missing

nvidia control panel is missing display settings, in my laptop it only shows 3d settings and developer, please help thanks

    Make sure to directly check the BIOS configuration settings for your particular computer model. As mentioned earlier, some laptops come with BIOS settings related to graphics switching, like "Discrete," "Switchable," or "Hybrid." To do this, access your BIOS, search for your computer model on the Dell website, and follow the provided instructions for BIOS setup.

    Just a heads-up, though: tweaking BIOS settings can be risky, so proceed with caution.

    in control panel it tells me the default gpu is intel uhd as laptop display

    Thanks for the info. Right-click on the desktop and select "NVIDIA Control Panel"

    Go to "3D Settings" -> "Manage 3D settings". Under the "Global Settings" tab, the "Preferred graphics processor" tells you which GPU is the default.

    Some laptops have BIOS settings related to graphics switching ("Discrete", "Switchable", or "Hybrid"). Ensure the setting favors your dedicated GPU.

    What I'm thinking is that laptops can dynamically switch between the integrated graphics (Intel, etc.) and the dedicated NVIDIA GPU for power management. Check which GPU actively drives the display in both laptops. The missing Display settings might only show up when the NVIDIA GPU is in charge.

    Dell and Lenovo might use different optimizations within their pre-installed software related to graphics. Look for Dell-specific power management or graphics utilities that could disable some NVIDIA options.

    On your laptop, on the NVIDIA settings, if you click help, do you see any option to change the mode from Developer to other?

    no he has a lenovo laptop with no external displays connected, i have a dell one but specs are still same and no external monitors or displays on both
